College life is certainly turning out to have some nice perks... but also it's stresses are there too. For one, I finally know what they mean by the, 'starving college student' (Even though there's food in the fridge it's like... NOTHING you want to eat) and now it feels like homework rules my life. I really hate that feeling...

The social life is really cool. My room mates and I get along really well, and we all generally have the same interests. When we first met, they all asked who's Wii was sitting next to the TV. I said it was mine, and they were so excited.

Wendy, one of my room mates said that now we could be the dorm with all the parties!

I finally got a new printer last week, complete with working scanner. SO NOW I CAN BLOODY POST WHAT I WANT NOW. The only downside to the dorm is that the mattresses are ROCK hard... I can't sleep on rockhard mattresses... and the local walmart doesn't sell pillow tops or anything like that. (So anna... I might be asking for that back now.)

On another note, the weather up here in Idaho is freezing. That's the only way I can describe it. I mean... It's cold, and it hasn't snowed since I got here. Which is rather lame, becuase I like it when it snows. Gives the cold a purpose. Heh.

My art class that I'm taking feels... kind of bogus. They're teaching us how to draw with cubes and perspective. I HATE drawing that way. It's like the way to draw everything so nit picky perfect. If no one's noticed, I like free style. This perspective drawing feels very limiting. I'm not saying that this art class is bad for everyone, but for me? Let's just say that my first few assignments have been to copy pictures. Yeah. That's right. Copy another artist's sketches. I have been BOARD OUT OF MY MIND. I asked if I could go to a more advanced class, but the head of the department said that I couldn't go becuase I COULDN'T DRAW A CUBE AT ONE OR TWO POINT PERSPECTIVE. Wow. All becuase I couldn't draw a cube. Oh no the world is ending. Well guess what, Now I do since you SHOWED me. I have to take cubes over FIGURE DRAWING?

Don't get me wrong, I like BYU-I so far, but this art program here is making me go beserk. They don't even have a character desgin class. Not even ONE. Unfortunately if I want to transfer I just have to stick with what I got myself into.

However I have had a strong feeling of homesickness... I guess that comes natural. It's nice living on your own, but I technically have been doing that for a year already, and my mind is having an anxiety attack of it. I'm worried that this might inhibit my studies. I know that if I do well these two semesters, then I WILL be able to go back home and go to a school that's closer to my liking.

All well... what do you do?

Oh crap. I just noticed that my subscription is almost gone... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Mooooonnney is so hard to fiiiiind....

Well, I'll be posting stuff soon... hopefully. If my homework doesn't eat me first.

That sucks about the art classes D= Have they not seen your portfolio? @.o No one can tell you you can't draw, and draw with correct perspective...yeesh...

Today is my first day of classes...yay fourth semester Arabic! 8D

....:fear: I'm always totally afraid that I'm going to die in Arabic class. o.o

But this semester I (finally!) get to have mostly major-related classes: three English ones! =D British Lit, World Lit, and Intermediate Creative Writing - Non-fiction. Turns out British Lit is over books I read in high school...Frankenstein and Brave New World. Blech. Why can't we study Jane Austen? *puppy dog eyes*

Chin up! College is one of the most FUN times of your life, having all sorts of people right in your dorm and dorm hall! I transferred and now live at home...I don't miss dorm mattresses (I did have a pillowtop, which alternately served as my harp-cushion when I drove to play somewhere XD), but I do miss the *dial cell phone* "Hey let's go to the caf!/Play a game/watch a movie!" *walks down a flight of stairs* "Well hello again!"

It totally rocks. ^^

And you're at a Church school, too! I haven't been to one before =O though I hear a lot of good about them. XD Been to your ward yet? Like it?

Good luck!

I'm sorry you're homesick. Those of us at home miss you, if that's any consolation. As for your pillow top, it's a bit big to ship! sorry. But yes, you may have it back when you come up to visit. I'll get over it. :D But there's no way I'm boxing it up and shipping it to you. It hasn't snowed here in weeks either. The air is disgusting! Ew. We need a storm to come in and clean it out. Hang in there. Perspective is boring, but lets face it, it might help with the lack of background issues. Take it as a challenge instead. Doing some more complicated perspective pictures on the side might ease your boredom. Design Roary's chambers at Silv'gaurd. lol. :D  You know, you can call me to rant too. That'd be awesome, especially because I'm hesitant to call you because I think you're busy. And when I do, you're sort of despondent. So yeah, when YOU get time or need to, YOU call ME. Because I have no idea what your schedule is like or what you're doing. But I'm here for you. I miss you and I'm worried about you. Especially after how you fared in Vegas.

Shya in my Drawing I class we had to copy a Picasso sketch to learn composition. o_0 and I know in Drawing II we're gonna do a master copy, which is kinda aggravating....but once you get foundation crapola out of the way everything should be grand~

I think Homesickness is a part of life we're all going to have to go through. You might as well get it done with now. Because if you don't now, you'll have to deal with it later. Also look at it this way. You're not serving a mission, so you can call home any time of year, and not just on mother's day, or on christmas. And if you can, you can always go home in between semesters. If you're busy with homework, and engrossing yourself with your life where you're at, time will go by fast. The matress, yeah...don't blame you there. As for the bogus art class, I know exactly how you feel. Here's the thing though. There's ALWAYS something you can take away from an experience to improve yourself. It doesn't matter how bad the experience, or how crummy it was. When life gives you lemons, squirt it in the eyes of your enemies. Lol! Seriously though. I HATE perspective. I LOATH drawing boxes, and blah blah blah. However, get through the class. No matter how much you hate it, does it hurt to learn it? I took a perspective class, and I hated every moment of it, but I still learned from it. I tortured myself on purpose by taking that class because I want to do art as a living. If you love art, you have to be willing to suffer for it sometimes. It's the same with anything you love. Sacrifices have to be made. Most importantly, you can do this. Even more importantly, the people who care about you will pray for you, and Heavenly Father will help you. Because your loved ones are concerned about your happiness. Sometimes we have to do things we don't like. It's during those times that we NEED to change our perspective so we can laugh about it. If you have to, take every bad experience you have, and draw a comic about it. Seriously, when you start to see how funny the situation really is, it's not so bad. Not only that, but you can vent about it that way too. HUGS! I promise you that you'll be fine so long as you do what you're supposed to be doing. Pray about anything you're uncomfortable about, and find out what you need to be doing. And be willing to make friends where ever you go. Friends and companions make life easier. Trust me, I'm 26 now and can attest that your late teens, and early twenties is like going through a second puberty in the aspect that it's one of the second most major life changes you go through. When I was 23 I was having a rough time adapting to adulthood, and somebody told me it'd all pan out by the time I was 25. I didn't believe them...but it did. Life doesn't get any easier, but your perspective changes, and that's what's most important. Sorry for ranting so long, but I hope I helped in some form or another. I'll remember you in my prayers.

I do hope things work out for you ^^; I felt similar about the classes when I went to college. I'm more a writer though, but you had to take the fundamental classes before anything else, and that meant having to write poetry and the like, and I can't do poetry worth shit, plus, I really just don't like it anyway lol So it was really annoying having to spend time on stuff I thought I didn't like or wasn't what I wanted to do. So I can understand in that way heh ^^; I do hope things get better for you though and that you get to where you want to be.
